What we usually find

Most "my AC quit" calls come down to a handful of culprits, and none of them are mysteries. After a few thousand summers on the Wasatch Front, we know what to look for first:

• A blown capacitor. The most common one. Cheap part, quick swap — your AC hums but the fan won't spin.
• Low on refrigerant. Usually means a small leak. We find it, fix it, and recharge — not just top it off and leave.
• A frozen coil. Often a dirty filter or airflow problem. We thaw it and sort out why it iced up.
• A bad contactor or control board. The electrical bits that get cooked by Utah summers and power flickers.

How a visit goes

A tech comes out, finds the actual problem, and gives you a flat price before any work starts. You say yes or no — no pressure, no "mystery" charges at the end. If it's a quick fix, we often have you cooling again before we leave the driveway.

One tip while you wait: if the system is running but not cooling, shut it off. Letting it run low on refrigerant or with a frozen coil can turn a $200 repair into a compressor replacement.
